Ofcom and impartiality

UK broadcast regulator Ofcom consults (= “lets people vent”) today on impartiality and news. The event’s at Reuters HQ in Canary Wharf.

I’ll be going along. These events usually have an agenda, and this one appears to be an attempt to get out of regulating on traditional impartiality grounds all the TV news channels that show up in the UK on satellite (e.g. Iran’s Press TV, China’s CCTV, Fox News, etc.). More later. (Caveat: unless it’s unspeakably dull.)
