My new job…and yours?

I am delighted and — yes, excited — to announce that I’ll be joining the World Economic Forum as Managing Director and Head of Communications from August. [More here.]

In the new role I’ll be removing my commentary hat and travelling a lot more, so the blog will probably fall into abeyance — it’s been suffering from neglect of late.

Graduate School of Journalism, City University London

I’ve had a great four years at City, with terrific and talented colleagues and even more terrific and talented students.

There’s been a lot of change: new people, new programmes, and fantastic facilities for the new Graduate School of Journalism. With the paint dry and the official opening scheduled for June 17, now seems as good a time as any for someone new to take journalism at City onwards and upwards.

Lis Howell is kindly taking the helm as interim whilst the post is advertised.

So if you’d like to lead the world’s greatest journalism school…there’s an opening.

  1. Congratulations on the new post, Adrian. I’ve been a loyal follower of your links for a while, and of course, I’m hoping you’ll still have time for those after leaving City. Either way, thanks and good luck.

  2. Congratulations Adrian and best of luck with it.
I’ll miss reading your views on the news biz though.

  3. Congrats Adrian: going to live in Davos? I lived in the Engadine over the hill from there for half a year and visit regularly. Drinking, skiing and shopping advice at the cost of a beer before you go…

  4. the world’s greatest journalism school”? I’ll give you Britain’s second best (grudgingly first in a couple of areas perhaps) … Sounds like a very exciting new challenge. How do you think it compares with being a BBC Trustee?

  5. Hi Adrian,

I’m a bit late to the party, but good luck in the new job. Look forward to hearing about it some time. Look me up if you ever wash up in NZ.

    Julie
