Twitter as a news resource…

Jeff Jar­vis writes on the news­gath­er­ing poten­tial of Twit­ter, and I see a problem:

Developers at the BBC and Reu­ters have picked up on the poten­tial for this. They are work­ing on applic­a­tions to mon­itor Twit­ter, the Twit­ter search engine Sum­mize, and other social-media ser­vices — Flickr, You­Tube, Face­book — for news catch­words such as “earth­quake” and “evacuation”.

Whilst you and I are get­ting the f%^& out of there, the BBC will be look­ing for people who are “evac­u­at­ing.” If you can Twit­ter that, you were either nowhere near…

Meet the new blog…same as etc. etc.

So it’s a change of design (good­bye Amer­ican Type­writer) and farewell to Blog­ger (much loved). I’m slowly updat­ing the blogroll so if you haven’t appeared yet, then yes, it is just me being slow.
