Jean Gabin in Quai des Brumes, Philippe Noiret in La Vie et rien d’autre, Depardieu in Le Colonel Chabert, Daniel Auteuil and Emmanuelle Béart in Un Coeur en Hiver.
Some of my favourite movies are French. But I have a problem (not in my lousy taste in movies) – I don’t get the French fascination with primary colours, or their animation style, or their graphics. And I wonder if I’ll get their new news channel, France 24. Check out what appears to be an early release promo for the channel – tagline “Beyond the news.” It looks very French. And not in a good way.
Promos are running on ASTRA at 19.2(degree) East until it launches on air on December 9th (internet launch is December 6th). Oddly the website doesn’t have it yet.

Interesting standpoint! Except I don’t 100% share your French movies tates! ;-)
When it comes to France 24, I think that what matters today is to demonstrate that a French company has the ability to launch succesfully an international media. That is supposed not to be too France centric…
Let’s wait until Dec-6… Surely the best is yet to come!
More is more, as they say – look forward to seeing it!
