Edward Tufte has a new book out. If you’re not familiar with his work on the visual display of information check out his analysis of one of the Powerpoint slides delivered by NASA scientists investigating damage to the space shuttle Columbia. You may never use Powerpoint again.
His work is especially useful for journalists interested in portraying information graphically – and also rather beautiful.

Tufte is also especially beloved by the digerati / highend web design community.
Sometimes it feels like there is almost a cult of Tufte in that group.
I’m a fan, but not necessarily a cultist! He could certainly use a wider audience amongst journos.
