Apologies. Posting has been poor and now the blog will be still more erratic for a week or so. My dad died suddenly, but not unexpectedly, last night. He was a couple of weeks short of his sixty-fifth birthday.

An old man remembers Fleet Street
I finished college at twenty-two. I was going to do six months training on Fleet Street, which was the mecca of competitive journalism. I sat in on the Daily Express, and I enjoyed it so much, I thought, I gotta have a job here, just to learn.
