Interesting exercise, if slightly <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">twitter<\/a>ish. At one point he points to traffic volumes on the BBC\u2019s website providing a useful gauge of a story\u2019s popularity.<span id=\"fullpost\"><\/p>\n<p>IMO they ought to stream talkback (the \u201cconversation\u201d in the gallery). For starters it\u2019s good for transparency and would put paid to much conspiracy theorising. Second, it\u2019s a good discipline (No <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/History_of_the_word_%22fuck%22\" target=\"_blank\">Richard Mottram<\/a>-isms). Third, it\u2019s cheap.<\/p>\n<p>And I don&#8217;t think Britain&#8217;s other <a href=\"http:\/\/news.sky.com\/skynews\/home\" target=\"_blank\">24-hour news channel<\/a> would gain too much of an advantage by hearing it.<\/p>\n<p>From the live blog you can also see some of the weird workings of the classic big organization, for example the BBC Queen apology apparently has to hit <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">PA<\/span> before News 24 runs it.
