Sadly I&#8217;m not going to share my teenage history of amphetamine abuse (narcolepsy you understand), but British Labour politicians &#8211; like Home Secretary <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/uk.reuters.com\/article\/domesticNews\/idUKL1888066120070719\" target=\"_blank\">Jacqui Smith<\/a><\/span> &#8211; are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thisislondon.co.uk\/news\/article-23404953-details\/Now%20SEVEN%20cabinet%20ministers%20admit:%20%27We%20smoked%20cannabis%27\/article.do\" target=\"_blank\">popping up<\/a> in public to share their experiences of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.timesonline.co.uk\/tol\/news\/politics\/article2102825.ece\" target=\"_blank\">cannabis<\/a>.  <\/p>\n<p>Why so? Well, it\u2019s worth remembering that Conservative leader <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">David Cameron<\/span> has kept quiet about his own drug history (paracetamol, aspirin etc.) bar an acknowledgement of a little juvenile experimentation. Could anything be less interesting? Well, yes, but&#8230;who has pictures of Cameron sucking on a <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Camberwell_carrot\" target=\"_blank\">Camberwell carrot<\/a>?<span id=\"fullpost\"><\/p>\n<p>Some media outlet, no doubt. Doubtless too, any picture is just of a badly formed roll-up. Expect it to pop up at some difficult moment. Sad really, but by such rubbish does our political life proceed.<\/p>\n<p>My biggest shock of the day was that <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Ruth Kelly<\/span> took cannabis. I once went to a party at her house which had all the danger and dissolution you\u2019d associate with a display stand at a quality cleaning products conference.
