Verwaayen has posted <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.telegraph.co.uk\/business\/benverwaayen\/jan08\/davos1.htm\" target=\"_blank\">his first piece<\/a> here. It reads, alas, like the press office penned it. (That\u2019s probably unfair to them.)<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>For me, I arrive wrapped up warm, full of optimism, and struck powerfully by the diversity of attitude amongst my fellow delegates.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Yup, about as exciting as a cold cup of hot chocolate.<\/p>\n<p>To judge by the first reaction, <strong><em>Telegraph<\/em><\/strong> blog readers did not warm to the Dutch CEO\u2019s polite banalities. Before it was \u201cmoderated\u201d, <strong>Rob U<\/strong> wrote:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Blogs by effing complacent sons of &#8230; enemas &#8230; should be treated with contempt. You don\u2019t deserve any discussion you expense account lizard.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Verwaayen probably isn\u2019t running BT because he\u2019s a bloodless bore, but readers might jump to that unflattering conclusion.
